Become a Volunteer

Volunteers are a valued part of the Saint John Neumann Regional School community. Whether you’re helping in the classroom, assisting with events, chaperoning trips, coaching, or supporting fundraising efforts, your time and talents make a difference for our students.

Because SJNRS is part of the Diocese of Allentown, all volunteers must complete required clearances and training before volunteering in any school setting.

Before You Volunteer: Required Clearances & Training

To protect our students and comply with diocesan requirements, anyone volunteering at SJNRS must have the appropriate documentation on file before volunteering.

Requirements Include:

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance

  • DHS Fingerprinting 

  • Mandated Reporter Training

  • Protecting God's Children

  • National Sex Offender Registry Clearance

  • Child Protective Services Law, Code of Conduct, Sexual Abuse, and Social Media & Electronic Communications Acknowledgments

Important: Some items take time to process. We recommend starting early—especially if you plan to chaperone a trip or volunteer for an event with a set date.

Who Needs Clearances?

Clearances are required for all volunteers who will have any contact with students, including (but not limited to):

  • Classroom or school-day volunteers

  • Field trip chaperones

  • Coaches and extracurricular volunteers

  • Event volunteers where students are present

  • Anyone assisting regularly in the building

Already Have Clearances?

If you have current clearances on file from another school, organization or employer, you may be able to submit those—as long as they meet diocesan requirements and are current. Please contact the school office to confirm what can be accepted.
