Athletics

At Saint John Neumann Regional School, athletics are about more than wins and losses. Our students learn teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship while representing their school and parish communities with pride. Coaches model Christian values, helping athletes grow in confidence both on and off the court.

Character & Sportsmanship

Our coaches work closely with families to keep athletics in the right balance with schoolwork and faith life. Players are encouraged to:

  • Show respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and coaches

  • Practice responsibility by keeping up with homework and commitments

  • Use their gifts humbly and gratefully, recognizing that all talents come from God

We celebrate effort, improvement, and teamwork just as much as final scores.

Sports Offered

CYO Sports & Teams

SJNRS athletes compete through parish-based CYO programs and school teams. Practices and games give students a healthy way to stay active, make friends, and develop their talents in a supportive environment.

Depending on interest and coach availability, students in Grades K-8 may participate in:

  • Basketball

  • Track & Field

  • Volleyball

  • Ski Club

High School Feeder Programs

As students move into the middle grades, they have even more chances to play. Through our high school feeder programs, SJNRS students may participate in:

  • Softball

  • Volleyball

  • Basketball

  • Football

  • Cheerleading

  • Wrestling

These opportunities are offered in partnership with Marian Catholic High School, Allentown Central Catholic High School, and Bethlehem Catholic High School. Feeder programs offer athletes a competitive arena with high school teams and opponents, while they continue to grow in skill, resilience, and teamwork.

Balance, Safety & Eligibility

Participation in sports is a privilege. Students are expected to demonstrate good behavior, positive attitudes, and satisfactory academic progress in order to remain eligible. Safety is a priority; families receive information about required forms, physicals, and schedules from the school and parish CYO coordinators before each season begins. Families will receive information about required forms, physicals, schedules, and fees from the school or parish CYO coordinators before each season begins.

How to Get Started

Families interested in athletics should:

  • Watch for sign-ups and announcements sent home by the school

  • Review sport-specific requirements and schedules

  • Complete required permission forms and physicals

Questions about specific sports, seasons, or eligibility should be directed to the parish CYO coordinator, Mrs. Carolyn Gowin at carolyn.l.gowin@gmail.com
