Faith and Ministry

At Saint John Neumann Regional School, faith is the heart of who we are. Students encounter Christ each day through prayer, religion classes, and a rich sacramental life. Together with our parish communities, we help children know that they are loved by God and called to share His love with others.
Worship & Sacraments
Weekly Masses
Students attend Mass as a school community on Fridays at 8:30 a.m. during the school year and on Holy Days. Each time, a different grade participates as readers and gift bearers. This allows students to share a special part in the liturgy and gives them valuable experience speaking publicly. Parents and families are always welcome to attend.
Sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion takes place in third grade, and eighth graders are prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation in partnership with our parishes.
Prayer & Devotions
Daily prayer in the classroom and school-wide celebrations throughout the year help students grow in a personal relationship with Jesus. Age-appropriate religion classes help students understand our Catholic faith and how to live it in everyday life.
Throughout the liturgical year, students take part in special devotions and prayer experiences, such as:
-
School prayer services during Advent and Lent
-
Opportunities for the Rosary and Eucharistic Adoration
-
Seasonal celebrations that honor Mary and the saints
Service & Student Leadership
Faith at SJNRS naturally leads to service. Students are encouraged to notice the needs of others and respond with generosity, whether through classroom projects, school-wide collections, or helping within our parish communities. Together, these experiences help students see themselves as part of something bigger than themselves.
Altar Servers and Sacristans
Beginning in Grade 5, students may choose to become altar servers during Mass or serve as sacristans, helping before and after the liturgy. These opportunities are introduced by teachers and parish staff and give students a meaningful way to serve God and the parish community.
Additional leadership opportunities—such as reading at Mass, assisting with prayer services, and mentoring younger students—help our children grow as confident witnesses to their faith.
